[Actually started writing this post on the 23rd of April but got side tracked and forgot about it till today the 28th so just bare with me ;)]

Well Hey There! Long time no talk, am I right?

So whats up with this new Blogger look? (For those of you who have you're own blogs and know what Im talking about.) I know all the changes to sites are supposed to make it easier or whatever but it does take a while to get used to. I had learned a few nifty tricks for the previews look and then they change it and you have to figure out how to do it all, all over again.

Anyway! So it was REALLY nice here the other day and I got a SUN BURN! I know I shouldnt be happy about that but Im just so glad the sun is finally here!! Yay!! I normally dont care for lots of heat and Im normally complaining its too hot out but Im not complaining any more. Ive been soo happy for these sunny days. It really gets you excited for Summer to get here! But its coming fast though! Yay!

So this Thursday is also my birthday! :D Im super excited. It seems like forever since my last one ;). AHHHHHH its coming soooo fast!!!

My friend, her grandma and I also went to the movie theater and watched the movie The Vow. It was a really good movie. Very sweet, sad, romantic, some things that made you laugh. I would definetly suggest you see it sometime :)

So! Songs of the week!

Mat Kearney - Ships in the Night

Arena - Panem's Best - EP - The Tributes

Bruno Mars - Somewhere In Brooklyn

Videos of the Week

Alright, I'm going to do it guys! So these are just some of the videos I've recently found on YouTube that I really liked! You should check them out too they are really cool :D

So my picks for YouTube videos of the week are:
Go-Pro part A
BeanManProductions

Spring Break
HightopProductionsTV
(which wont let me post the video :P So here's a link)

Songs Of The Week :)

So thanks to my friend at http://christinastoreyfashion.blogspot.com/, I'm now going to do a song of the week once a week as consistently as I possibly can :) So I was checking out her blog and saw she was doing a Song Of The Week. I thought that was an AMAZING idea so I asked if I could do the same thing on my blog and she said yes. How cool is this going to be guys?!?

I actually think though, that I will do SONGS of the week because it would be IMPOSSIBLE for me to choose just one song. :)

So here are my songs of the week for this week- April 2nd, 2012:

Be OK - Ingrid Michaelson

It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing) - Duke Ellington & His Famous Orchestra (1932)

Why Am I The One - Fun

Non Photo-Blue - Pinback

So there ya go! A few songs for you to check out over the weekend! :D Let me know what you think about them and maybe even suggest some songs to me in a comment. I'm actually getting kind of inspired to do a few YouTube  videos of the week now. What would you think about that?  :D

Swing Heil :)

Hallo an alle! Wie geht es Ihnen heute? Nein, ich spreche kein Deutsch. Ich bin gerade mit Google Translate.

Translation:
Hello to all! How are you today? No, I do not speak German. I am currently using Google Translate.

Haha. In case you are wondering why I decided to start this post off in German, and you haven't got it from the title of the post (although I doubt many will), let me tell you;

So these past weeks in my English class we have been reading this book called Night by Elie Wiesel. If you haven't read it, it takes place during the Holocaust from the point of view of a young Jewish boy. Its a true story and very informational and touching. It really shows how things actually were during that time... horrible. :( But it is a very good book.

After we finished reading that, our teacher had us watch a movie during the same period of time but from a German boys point of view. The movie is called Swing Kids and it is AMAZING in my opinion.
Here's a few summaries (source):
~1.     The story of a close-knit group of young kids in Nazi Germany who listen to banned swing music from the US. Soon dancing and fun leads to more difficult choices as the Nazis begin tightening the grip on Germany. Each member of the group is forced to face some tough choices about right, wrong, and survival.
~2.      Kids all over the world and all through time want to rebel. Peter Muller (Robert Sean Leonard) and Thomas Berger (Christian Bale) are two such young men whose rebellion against the conformity of Nazi Germany took the form of a love of American swing music, British fashion, and Harlem slang. But when an innocent prank forces Peter into the Hitler Youth, their friendship and their loyalties are put to the test against the seductive power of Nazism.
~3.     In Nazi Germany, the youth of the nation were pressed into joining the pro-Nazi Youth Leauge called the "Hiterjugend", or Hitler Youth. A group of rebel teenagers, however, chose to defy Nazi directives and grew their hair long and listened to American music while calling themselves the "Swing Kids." This is the story of one group of Swing Kids and how Nazi rule and persuasion tore them apart and set them against each other.

I really really REALLY liked this movie. The music and dancing in it was phenomenal also! It looked like so much fun. Whats also kind of ironic is that in gym class this week we learned how to swing dance which was SUPER fun! I loved it soooo much! :D I've been saying that in a past life I'm pretty sure I was a Swing Kid. :)

How many of you have seen this movie, read this book, or learned to swing dance? What did you think of them? Let me know! I love hearing from you! Oh and don't forget to check out my last post or two if you haven't already! :D

NYAN CAT!

Source
So how many of you have seen this cat? If you havnt, well, you have now! Ive sortof seen him before from my friend but then today in the halls someone had drawn this cat, taped him to the wall along with a trail of rainbow behind him! Isn't that awesome?!? Tonight on Facebook, my friend posted this link to NYAN CAT and his little song he sings over and over and OVER AND OVER!!!! Its kindof a nerdy thing to do but you can see how long you will 'NYAN'. How long will you? (*laughs* as you can tell, Im having a hard time starting to post smiley faces again! Plus he doesnt believe I did it so Im going to go a few extra days I think just to.. I dont know prove it a bit more? *laughs* P.S. If you have NOOO idea what Im talking about, check out this post so you can catch up on the no smiley face thing) Well, only a short post tonight! Joy, Friday, Smiley Faces and Parkour

Its FRIDAY! Believe it or not you actually made it through another week of school and its drama..... Congrats!

Ive actually had a really awesome week!

On Tuesday my school band had a band festival the girls had to wear dresses and the boys had to wear tuxes. And since our school is pretty close to the University (were it was being held) we walked there and it was REALLY cold! My fingers were about frozen when we got there! We played a few songs in front of some other school bands and some judges and then listened to the other bands play the rest of the day. It was super fun!

The next day was super fun too! Believe it or not Wednesday was a math competition. I'm just a nerd like that. Math is actually one of my favorite subjects! So some of us who wanted to, went to that competition all day (which was also at the University)! It was really fun. Only I had to make up a few yucky assignments and quizzes since I missed.

Have you noticed anything different about this post? I bet you haven't but WAIT WAIT don't go looking.... unless you really want to.... OK... go ahead... 5 seconds

Alright. did you figure it out? Well, if you haven't; I haven't been using ANY smiley faces! Wanna know why? Sure you do. That's why you're here!
So I use smiley faces a lot when typing on any electronic device. And when I say 'a lot', I mean A LOT!!!!!! You may have noticed this before but anyway!.... I was texting one of my best friends and we were talking and eventually I ended up saying that it would be very hard for me to stop adding smiley faces to everything and that eventually turned into a challenge. For me atleast. I said that I wouldn't type a single smiley face untill the end of the week. My friend, being the stuborn but funny person he is, countered back with 'You can stop next Wednesday' that way it would be a WHOLE week without me typing a single smiley face! He doubts I can do it so Im doing it to prove him wrong! Only 5 more days to go......

So I have recently found a great intrest for the sport of Parkour! (Of course I have not attempted it but it looks fun!)Incase you dont know what that is: "the sport of moving along a route, typically in a city, trying to get around or through various obstacles in the quickest and most efficient manner possible, as by jumping, climbing, or running" (credit to Dictionary.com) You could probobly youtube it and find some really awesome videos of people doing it too! I really think it would be something really fun to do! Although it could be reeeaaaaalllllly dangerous..... still... I would LOOOOOVVVVEEEE to take some pictures of people doing parkour! Maybe a summer job?!?

Here are some really cool Parkour pictures that unfortunetly I didn't take but wish I had!

I hope you all had a good week! Comment below and tell me your fun plans for the weekend? Any inspiring words for my long 5 days left of no smiley faces? Talk to you later!

For Thou Are Graciously Here --translation--> Hello

So for my Drama class this semester I had to memorize a monologue and guess which one I was given? No other than Romeo and Juliet. And who am I? Thou are fair and kindly Juliet. ;) so for the past week and a half I have been studying up a storm. Last night I was up untill 11pm! On a school night!!! :O lucky I memorized it and was 100% ready to have my line check today.... Only instead of a line check, we watched a performance on DVD.... So your telling me, I stayed up 'till how late on a school night for no reason? Oh my. ;) and no offense to those of you who are but I am NOT a big fan of Shakespeare at all. :P oh well I've memorized it and now I'm going to "boss" (do REALLY good) my performance. :) have any of you had to memorize a monologue before? If so, what was it? Anything funny happen that you would be willing to share?

Study, Finals, SNOW DAYS, Ipod, Study, Finals, Hunger Games, Portal, Long time no see....... *pants*

Well hey there! Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time no see huh? Well, lets see, whats happened since we last spoke........... EVERYTHING! Holy Camolie!

Before I begin, I wanted to share a little quote some of my classmates made up in H Geometry the other day... So they were trying to come up with good Chuck Norris quotes about triangles (because that was basically what we were working on at the time) and someone said "Chuck Norris can draw a triangle with 2 obtuse angles." The next thing they came up with was "Chuck Norris can draw a triangle with 4  angles." Of course, that still wasn't as good as it could be so they kept thinking.... Then finally:
"Chuck Norris can draw a triangle with four obtuse angles." Perfect ;)

So as some of you may know the end of the semester if actually here and gone and those of you in high-school know that meant finals. *shudders* yuck. My school splits our finals up into 3 different days, 2nd and third period for two hours each on the first day and its a half day. The second day is a regular day with the next 3 finals in it. And the last day of finals is 7th and 1st period for another 1/2 day. Well where I live, I've never EVER had a snow day in my life and we get A lot of snow during the winter. So when my school called for two snow days in a row, I couldn't believe my ears! TWO WHOLE SNOW DAYS! Back to back! :D Crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The other thing, the snow days let us have a 5 day weekend because we also got Monday off for Teacher Prep Day! Tuesday, the 8th graders came and visited the school on Tuesday so we didn't finish our finals that day either ;) he he. I just had the last of my finals today and may I say.... YES!!!! ;)

I have not posted anything for awhile so that also means I haven't posted any pictures! Check 'm out!:

Hunger Games anyone? Oh my fudging goshness..... Those books have to be like THE BEST books...... EVER! Who agrees with me? Wait before I ask you that I should probably make sure you've read them.... Have you? Dude/dudets if you haven't. Do it now! Even if you don't like reading I can almost guarantee you'll like these books. They're just ThAt GoOd! For those of you who have;
Gale or Peeta?

My friend Hannah and I have also recently been loving the game PORTAL 2! Its so fun and mind boggling :) It takes some thinking but overall its super fun. Its sortof hard to explain so I guess you could Youtube it? Its REALLY fun! :)

I hope all of you are having a great life. Good luck with school, work, and what-not. ;) Hope to hear from you soon! Comment and let me know what you think! I love hearing from you! L8tr!

Its here :)

Well we've finally made it to Christmas break! Well at least I did today. My cousins actually got out last Friday I believe! Lucky haha.So who's excited for the Holidays? New Years? Can you believe that it is almost 2012? Crazy!

Alright so that was pretty random but I don't really have a theme for this post. Its just a bunch of hodgepodge mix mach stuff today. :) But that's OK because sometimes its fun to do just that. :)
How was every one's week? Or well, half a week I should say.

So my December actually hasn't even been that snowy until TODAY! Its crazy! Its normally really cold and chilly by now! I bet there's about 5 inches out there already! This morning, when my Dad was taking me into school, it was so slick and it was pretty hard to see the roads because of the snow storm! Well :/ I'm not sure if you can exactly call it a storm but it was snowing hard. It was snowing BIG FAT flakes! :) But, my mom just informed me that during the next few days its supposed to warm up again so by Sunday there may not be that much snow left. :/ Dang.

So I plan on doing a little reading over the break. Does anyone have any suggestions? I love reading almost any kind of books so pretty much anything you suggest I'll check out :) Thanks

Tomorrow I have another orthodontist appointment and they are going to attach my last back molar tooth to the rest of my teeth/braces. O.o The problem? That back tooth isnt in very much so the braces are going to be REALLY pulling on it. :/ And that means my mouth is gunna hurt for awhile. :P

Any way! On a happier, postive note, cookies are yummy. :) Like REALLY yummy. Especially with milk.

Oh my gosh! I don't know how many candycanes I ate today! CRAZY! lol. I bet I had one in like every class today. :) Haha I dont like the multicolored ones though. Traditional red and white are my favorite. :) Except candy canes are sticky and they make my moth all sticky sometimes. haha. How about you? Whats your favorite kind?

Well, thats proboblly enough rambling for now. ;) Hope you have a great rest of the week and a very merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Hanika, whatever you celebrate. :)

Untill next time!

Christmas COOKIES! :D Yummmmm

So what did I do over the weekend? I made Christmas cookies of course! My parents, being the creative people they are, came up with the idea to make Christmas cookie trees!
Cute huh?!? :D Who wants to know how to make these? :)

  1. First make some cookie dough (gingerbread would work too) and if you want to make it easier on yourself, dye the dough green ;)
  2. PUT FLOUR DOWN ON A TOWEL/HANDS/ROLLING PIN/DOUGH ;) seriously or it will stick but not too much or it wont stick at all! Knead the dough a little bit, than roll it out with a rolling pin.
3. Use some multiple sized star cookie cutters and cut different stars out! (Your tree will look taller and more tree like with two of each size)

4. Place the cookies on a pan and bake them in the oven! :) Don't peek until they are done, they might run away! ;D

5. Frost them up! Dye the frosting green but leave some white if you want snow on your trees!

6. Stack them up and add any candies you want as decorations.

You can also decorate plain cookies too ya know!

YUM YUM YUM! Enjoy! Yay! Getting close to the holidays! Who's excited? :D
