BIG News :D

So I have a couple BIGish things going to happen to me in my near future and I would like to tell you all about them! ...And some other things ;)
First of all though, I would like to thank all my followers for following me. It really is nice to know you enjoy reading my posts (as I read one of my fellow bloggers post :)) Its really great to read all of your blog posts as well!
I would also like to give you guys my Instagram deelio so you can follow me on that as well.
Instagram user name: kennaphotography (I believe that's it. If you have trouble finding me PLEASE let me know :)
So as some of you may already know, I LOOVE music. Music is one of my main sources of life. OK maybe that's a bit of an exaduration but you get my point.... I hope. ;) ANYWAY man, I get off track quite a bit dont I? Well back to the music thing, I was wondering if perhaps any of you had any new suggestions of music for me to listen to? I am always craving some good new tunes to listen to and would love some new suggestions. I listen to just about anything but some cool little, 'not as popular' songs are really cool as well. So anything youd like to suggest to me is amazing and will be much appreciated.

This sortof has to do with one of my BIG news stories to tell you. So about a week or two ago I went into my band teachers office to play for him to be placed in a band for next year. (It is mandatory if you want to be in band) and I didnt do as well as I would have liked to but I still did pretty good :). I have been waiting for what seems like forever to find out what band I am in and it was figuratively killing me. And to make the waiting even worse, my band teacher would tell our class something along the lines of: 'Oh ya, Ill have all that posted outside the classroom tonight.' Come back in the morning... nothings there. 'Oh ya, we'll have those posted Thursday.' Thursday rolls around... nothings there. 'Oh ya we'll have them posted by Friday.' again, nothing. And then today, FINALLY they were posted outside the classroom after school. I literally think my heart skipped a few beats when I heard they were posted. As soon as I could, I rushed down to the band room to find two pieces of paper posted on the bullitin board outside the classroom. One page had the band a step up from mine - symphonic/advanced (My band this year was the lowest band :P) and the other was for the highest band in our school- wind ensemble. I searched the names under the Symphonic one first and saw the names of two of my trumpet friends and my flute friend and many more in my class. But not my name. Then I looked at the wind ensemble list and under the trumpets.....there, was my name. Im still in shock. Its going to be quite the adventure I think. Im super excited but that also means Im going to have to make some new friends with those who are probably a school year or two older than me O.o. I was also looking on the list and theres only one person (french horn) that i know and talk to daily so theres going to be A LOT of new faces...

My other big news has to do with my face. Now some of you may be like.... should I read this? DOnt worry its nothing bad ;) It GOOD big news. So in about a week I get my braces OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. And if you cant tell, im super excited. I have had these things on my face for about three years now! Dont get me wrong, I like them and appreciate their cause but its about time I get them off I think. ;) Its going to feel very, very weird though. They took some brackets off of a few of my back teeth and it feels EXTREMELY weird. I can only imagine what it will feel like with all of them off.

And last but not least, the last of my BIG news! I dont remember if I told you all this or not but just in case I didnt;
For band if you have a solo prepared, you can play it for an adjudicator with a piano accomponist during a event called District Festival, who will listen, take notes on your intonation, rhythm, sound, professionalism, etc... and then afterwords give you some advice. If you do really well, you get a 'Superior rating' meaning you are qualified to go to state; meaning you play for another adjudicator a few weeks later in the capitol of your state! Its all very exciting yet nerve- raking. So I have been taking private lesson and my tutor helped me prepare a solo for this. It was super fun to learn and such a great song. And guess what this girl was rates? SUPERIOR. :D
This Saturday my family and I are driving up to the capitol for the State Music Festival where I am playing my solo yet again (with improvements) for another adjudicator and some other soloists from around the state. I am super excited and yet nervous. But thats normal right? ;)
So now that I've chatted your ear off I better let you go for now. Ill talk to you later though! Let me know what you thinkn whatever, just leave me a comment! I love hearing from you!

Another weekend over Another week begins

It seems like this weekend flew by so fast. It was like it was here one second and then gone the next! That statement really does hold true; Time Flies When Your Having Fun.

I had my birthday party on Friday night and it was Super fun. :) We went bowling later in the night were they did a disco thing where the lights go down and there's disco balls above the bowling lanes. My mother and I had made these shirts with mustaches on them ;). They were bright almost neon green with these cute little black mustaches we made out of black felt. They were/ are super cute and we wore them around :). My cupcakes were German chocolate and we stuck sticks in them with mustaches that matched our shirts! ;D We even wore sticky mustaches while we bowled. It was SUPER fun. After that, we all went back to my house were we ate a bunch of snacks and slept in my camper in our driveway. I have to say it was a really fun party. :)

So the songs for this week are:

Little Talks - Of Monsters and Men

Wake Up - Arcade Fire

Penelope - Pinback

Back In Time - Pitbull

And the videos for this week are:

Fun - We Are Young - Official Video

Little Talks - Of Monsters and Men

Horse Man - Bean Man Productions

So there is your daily dose of cool, random and oddness for the day. ;) Some of the videos and music are quite odd; but even so; Who says cool has to be 'normal'

Hope you all have a good rest of your weekend! Talk to you later!

Songs Of The Week :)

So thanks to my friend at http://christinastoreyfashion.blogspot.com/, I'm now going to do a song of the week once a week as consistently as I possibly can :) So I was checking out her blog and saw she was doing a Song Of The Week. I thought that was an AMAZING idea so I asked if I could do the same thing on my blog and she said yes. How cool is this going to be guys?!?

I actually think though, that I will do SONGS of the week because it would be IMPOSSIBLE for me to choose just one song. :)

So here are my songs of the week for this week- April 2nd, 2012:

Be OK - Ingrid Michaelson

It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing) - Duke Ellington & His Famous Orchestra (1932)

Why Am I The One - Fun

Non Photo-Blue - Pinback

So there ya go! A few songs for you to check out over the weekend! :D Let me know what you think about them and maybe even suggest some songs to me in a comment. I'm actually getting kind of inspired to do a few YouTube  videos of the week now. What would you think about that?  :D

Swing Heil :)

Hallo an alle! Wie geht es Ihnen heute? Nein, ich spreche kein Deutsch. Ich bin gerade mit Google Translate.

Translation:
Hello to all! How are you today? No, I do not speak German. I am currently using Google Translate.

Haha. In case you are wondering why I decided to start this post off in German, and you haven't got it from the title of the post (although I doubt many will), let me tell you;

So these past weeks in my English class we have been reading this book called Night by Elie Wiesel. If you haven't read it, it takes place during the Holocaust from the point of view of a young Jewish boy. Its a true story and very informational and touching. It really shows how things actually were during that time... horrible. :( But it is a very good book.

After we finished reading that, our teacher had us watch a movie during the same period of time but from a German boys point of view. The movie is called Swing Kids and it is AMAZING in my opinion.
Here's a few summaries (source):
~1.     The story of a close-knit group of young kids in Nazi Germany who listen to banned swing music from the US. Soon dancing and fun leads to more difficult choices as the Nazis begin tightening the grip on Germany. Each member of the group is forced to face some tough choices about right, wrong, and survival.
~2.      Kids all over the world and all through time want to rebel. Peter Muller (Robert Sean Leonard) and Thomas Berger (Christian Bale) are two such young men whose rebellion against the conformity of Nazi Germany took the form of a love of American swing music, British fashion, and Harlem slang. But when an innocent prank forces Peter into the Hitler Youth, their friendship and their loyalties are put to the test against the seductive power of Nazism.
~3.     In Nazi Germany, the youth of the nation were pressed into joining the pro-Nazi Youth Leauge called the "Hiterjugend", or Hitler Youth. A group of rebel teenagers, however, chose to defy Nazi directives and grew their hair long and listened to American music while calling themselves the "Swing Kids." This is the story of one group of Swing Kids and how Nazi rule and persuasion tore them apart and set them against each other.

I really really REALLY liked this movie. The music and dancing in it was phenomenal also! It looked like so much fun. Whats also kind of ironic is that in gym class this week we learned how to swing dance which was SUPER fun! I loved it soooo much! :D I've been saying that in a past life I'm pretty sure I was a Swing Kid. :)

How many of you have seen this movie, read this book, or learned to swing dance? What did you think of them? Let me know! I love hearing from you! Oh and don't forget to check out my last post or two if you haven't already! :D

Hunger Games Premiere, New Hat, Unoffial movie productions, :)

Heyo! I'm back!So on Thursday night/ Friday morning I went to the midnight premiere with a few of my friends! We've been counting down to this for a finniking looooooooooooooooooooong time (hehe hunger games nerd pun). We got there a few hours early and had to wait but it was totally worth it :) It was so much fun waiting too. My friend Zac and I played a few games on my iPod and then we laughed and talked and we all started to play a Hunger Games card game but it took us like the whole rest of our time to even figure out the directions. ;) haha.
Seneca Crane from the Hunger Games.
I'm in love with this man's beard ;D

I also got a new hat this weekend! Its really comfy, fun and cool ;) And a new haircut ;)

So I found this really cool unofficial movie production 'dealio' on Facebook. They have a YouTube account so you can watch all they're videos there. You should check them out! Pretty dang 'shnazy' :D
Heres the link to their facebook page:
Bean Man Productions

I hope you've all had a good weekend and have a good week! Have you seen the Hunger Games yet? Did you go to the premiere? What'd ya think? Let me know! I love hearing from you! :D

For Thou Are Graciously Here --translation--> Hello

So for my Drama class this semester I had to memorize a monologue and guess which one I was given? No other than Romeo and Juliet. And who am I? Thou are fair and kindly Juliet. ;) so for the past week and a half I have been studying up a storm. Last night I was up untill 11pm! On a school night!!! :O lucky I memorized it and was 100% ready to have my line check today.... Only instead of a line check, we watched a performance on DVD.... So your telling me, I stayed up 'till how late on a school night for no reason? Oh my. ;) and no offense to those of you who are but I am NOT a big fan of Shakespeare at all. :P oh well I've memorized it and now I'm going to "boss" (do REALLY good) my performance. :) have any of you had to memorize a monologue before? If so, what was it? Anything funny happen that you would be willing to share?

Musings on a Sunday

Heyo! Happy Sunday everybody! haha.
So I felt like making a list of some of the things I'm really "into" recently :)

  1. I've recently found a few new blogs and one of them, The Way I See The World, has really caught my eye :) One of her posts, Using The Media To Your Advantage, has been SUPER help full and I suggest you check it out! :D
  2. The song "Concerning Hobbits" by Howard Shore I believe. I absolutely LOVE Irish music and all that kind of stuff. I actually used to play the violin when I was younger. I'm not exactly sure why I stopped though. :/ (I play the Trumpet now though and I really like that! :))
  3. Teen Vogue. Its a really great magazine and I am actually having my mom pick me up the new one while she's out. :) Thanks Mom! :D
  4. Braided Hairstyles! Today I did a Casual yet classy up do, and I really like it! :D
  5.
OK so I know It's pretty messy and its a funky picture but its Sunday. ;) Its a day to just be lazy :)

  6. My baby kitten O'Malley! He's such a sweetie pie! So cute and lovable and soft :) He's actually purring in my lap right now. :D
  7.
I took this picture of my baby the other day on my phone when he was sleeping on my parents bed. How CUTE! :)

I hope you had a great weekend! And remember, only about 13 days left 'till Christmas! :D

Catch Up!

Hey! I'm back! So I promised you an answer to this riddle:

A man jumps out of a window of a 20-story building. He falls all the way to the ground below, and lands on solid concrete with nothing to cushion his fall. The man gets up, still alive and completely uninjured. How is this possible?

But none of you answered :( Aw well! I suppose its either because I didn't give you enough time or I don't have enough followers haha. So maybe you could tell your friends about this blog haha. Anyway, enough rambles, here's the answer!

He was in a 20-story building, but he was only on the first floor!

Haha. I kicked myself for not thinking of this one. I was thinking stuff up like maybe he jumped onto a huge trampoline and landed in a net? Or maybe it wasn't real life and a 20-story building is like 1 story tall. Or maybe there was a huge thing of jellow at the bottom. ;) Haha I know weird and random.

So I for November 11, 2011 at 11:11:11a.m. I took a picture (well my mom took it of me ;)) for 11/11/11 11:11:11 :) I thought it would be fun after looking at one of my favorite blogs post on 11/11/11. (see here) And here is what I came up with :)

So like I said I recently had my first photography show for first Friday! I was super excited! I have probably had some of these pictures on my blog before but I wanted to show you the group I had shown. And here they are :) :
This Dragonfly actually flew right next to me and landed on the bush right beside me so...SNAP. :)

I took this one of a lamp but everyone in my photography club first thought it was a golf ball on a tee. :)

I took this picture of my kitty boy O'Malley. <3

This is a picture I took close up next to a tree looking into the leaves. Everyone in my photography club thought this one was dirt at first. ;)

This could possibly be my favorite. I didn't use any photo tools other than putting "Kenna Photography" on it! :) Isn't it pretty? I love the colors.

So I hope you enjoyed this and I would LOVE to hear from you. :) What were you thinking of for the riddle? Hows life? Do you like my pictures? :) Have a good rest of the week and so on! :)
